Bippity Boppity Bow Wow

Thank you Shelia for playing Furry Dogmother!
ARF received a request to help a blind 4 month old schnauzer puppy in need of medication and some serious tender loving care. We sent a call for help to our volunteers and Sheila offered to nurture this love bug. The poor pup is on three different medications for his cough but is now assured to get the time and attention he needs. We hope to have him healthy, comfy, cozy and united with a forever home in no time. A very special thank you to the support of the Tulsa community. It is only through your generosity that we are able to continue our tradition of treating and loving abandoned animals in need.

Meet Sydney
An update from his forever family..." he's a chub now compared to back then.. he has some meat on his bones and free and clear of heart worms... he still has his cough but it is sometimes 'attention' seeking.. EVERY one of my friends who meet him just falls in love with him."

Special ARF Announcement

Phyllis and Richard's son, Duane, has lost his battle with cancer. There are no words or amount of hugs in the world to make this easier for Phyliss, Richard, his wife or seven children that loved him. They are in our thoughts and prayers. Phyliss and Richard have been faithful volunteers for over 10 years. They have adopted several hard to place ARF dogs & have fostered many dogs. They continue to set an example of kindness and a love for those around them. Duane and his children share that same loving spirit. His battle wasn't a battle fought alone but fought together with the love and support of his family and friends.
Duane's friends have set up a fund for the children.
Donations can be made by anyone at any

Spanky is going to the White House

Looks like Spanky is going to the White House!! That explains why he has been with ARF all these years. He has been saving himself for doggy greatness. Not only does Spanky make a bold political statement but he also loves kids and is crate trained. What more can you ask for in a presidential pet? He has been waiting for a family to make him their one and only pet for so long! Are you not sure Spanky is First Doggy material? Please feel free to take a look at all of our adoptable pets or search http://www.petfinder.com/ for a pet waiting to be rescued. Saving the economy may take some time but saving a dog is as simple as skipping the pet shop and filling out an adoption application.

So President-elect Barack Obama we have the dog for you. Please feel free to submit your adoption application anytime.

A Place to Pawty

Posh pets in the Tulsa area have a place to Pawty. Pooches is a rare find and treat for pet owners and animal lovers. Some of their unique services include pet daycare, pet pawties, training and puppy play groups. Their Pampered Puppy Pawties even come complete with gourmet cake for the birthday pooch, games, puppy party favors and decorations. Puppy playgroups and daycare are great tools for meeting other animal lovers and socializing your pet. The day a rescued sweetie finds their forever home is a cause for celebration and we can't think of a better place to spend it.
We are so excited and honored to be pairing up with Pooches for our pet portraits and Posh pet photo contest on November 22nd. Pooches has donated a gift certificate for the winning pet. Another wonderful Tulsa business will also be chipping in to help make this event a success. The Dog Dish has also donated a very special surprise!!!

Neutered but still 100% stud

Hubby is ready to have himself fixed. We have two perfect two legged princesses and we’re all set. In support of his decision I visited http://www.spayok.org/ to ease his fears. So the good news is he is going to be less likely to mark his territory and once altered will be even less likely to roam. Looks like I will be saving money since I won't have to buy a shock collar to keep him from looking at other women. We were both worried about him getting fat and lazy once altered but that appears to be a myth. He will still be his handsome and protective self and any changes will be for the better. I think he still needs some support and reassurance. Please help me put his fears to rest!! Maybe your dogs and cats will go first and show him how easy it is. There are many cost effective programs in place for spaying or neutering pets in and around Oklahoma. We hope you support animal rescue by spaying or neutering your furry family members. Check out our adoptable animals for a look at some 100% studs and lovely ladies already spayed or neutered.

For a more serious look at the pros and cons of spaying and neutering your pets please visit. http://www.spayok.org

Keep up the good work McCurtain County. McCurtain County vets have teamed up with the group Animal Rescue and Care to offer spaying and neutering at reduced rates. More details are available at… http://www.arkofmccurtaincounty.org
